Getting ready to make a splash!
This morning the Bears and Eddie Goldman agreed to restructure his contract, turning his roster bonus into a signing bonus, and freeing an extra 2 million dollars towards the 2019 salary cap. Also, the Bears re-signed RFA TE Ben Braunacher to a two year deal. Contract details have not been revealed, but it's suspected to be nearing a veteran minimum deal. Braunacher only had 3 receptions for 42 yards but stats can be deceiving, he was mainly used as an inline blocker and on special teams. A wise man once told me "every team needs a Braunacher," and I couldn't agree more. With the recent restructures and cuts, the Bears have put themselves in a position to make a splash. Whether they decide to splash on one of their own (Callahan, Amos) or one of the many speculated UFA's around the league(Collins,Ingram,Thomas), I'm sure Pace will keep it "close to the vest."
